Domestic violence is not just physical. Under the Family Protection Act No. 28 of 2008, it includes psychological abuse, harassment, intimidation, and behaving in an offensive or indecent manner toward a family member. [cite: 33, 34, 36]
Seeking help should never be a burden. There are no application fees or charges for requesting a family protection order. [cite: 230] Additionally, all proceedings are private and closed to the public to protect your family's dignity. [cite: 215]
